Home Health Aide (HHA)

About the Role

Right Care Services Inc. is hiring Home Health Aides to support patients in Lawrence and the Merrimack Valley. HHAs help with personal care and daily activities in the home, following the patient’s plan of care and working with our nurses and therapists. Se habla español — bilingual caregivers are encouraged to apply.

Duties

• Provide personal care and ADL/IADL support as assigned on the plan of care (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility/transfers).
• Help maintain a safe, clean environment related to the patient’s care.
• Assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping when ordered on the plan of care.
• Take and record vital signs when directed by the nurse.
• Cue for self-administered medications only when assigned and allowed by policy and the plan of care.
• Document visits the same day and report changes in the patient’s condition or home situation to the supervising nurse promptly.
• Work with therapy staff when the plan of care includes PT or OT goals.
• Wear agency identification and follow infection-control and privacy (HIPAA) requirements.
• Attend required in-service training.

Requirements

• Completion of a Massachusetts/federal-compliant home health aide training program (minimum hours as required) with a certificate, or equivalent qualification accepted by the agency and state rules.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as needed for documentation and safety; Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before start — confirm with HR).
• Reliable transportation to patient homes.
• Ability to pass required background checks (including CORI as required by Massachusetts law).
• Physical ability to assist with transfers and personal care (agency will describe specific requirements during hiring).
• Preferred: prior aide experience in home health, hospital, or long-term care.

Schedule & Location

• Patient visits in Lawrence and nearby Merrimack Valley communities served by Right Care.
• Full-time and part-time schedules may be available depending on caseload.
• Office hours for coordination: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. Visit schedules vary by patient need.
